Airplane Sickness
Airplane sickness can occur at any time during a flight and can happen to all people. Even if a person does not usually get sick during a flight, sickness can still occur if a person is nervous, ate something they shouldn’t have, or the flight happens to be a bumpy one. This can be very upsetting to the person and to fellow travelers. But it happens and the staff is trained to handle problems when they arise. Sickness is common on flights that experience more turbulence than usual or if a landing is not smooth. This can be upsetting to the stomach. People who get sick during a flight may sometimes get sick during other trips in cars and buses as well. The motion of a moving vehicle is enough to cause them to not feel good for the entire trip.
There are ways to help airplane and other types of motion sickness. Not concentrating on the motion and focusing on other things is a way to trick the body into not feeling the motion. This can work on extended flights or long car trips. Medications can be taken to help people remain calm and keep their stomachs from feeling ill. These medications can be purchased over the counter at grocery stores and pharmacies. It is important to take the medication with food or water so that the stomach will remain clam for the entire trip. This will help a person not get sick while traveling so that they can enjoy their vacation.
