Swift city

Swift City is a series of travel guides which officially launched in January 2007. The concept was created by seven Australian friends in December 2005. The first travel guides on Swift City were based on Sydney and Brisbane. Swift City harnesses the power of Google's mapping software to create maps of many cities around the globe. Swift City currently has a small team of reviewers working to review the cities they live in. Since the reviews are written by locals, it makes these guides more authentic.

The Swift City site makes no money. It does not accept payments from anyone to advertise their businesses. It is simply a collection of people who are trying to document great things to do in cities around the world. Swift City currently has reviews on cities in Australia, the United States, Britain, China, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands, and Vietnam. Swift City is completely free for users and lists the 30 best places to eat, sleep and have fun in each city. Combined with Google Earth, the site's reviews and write-ups are extremely useful.

Since Swift City is in the process of creating its database, it allows people to contact them to let them know of any tourist attraction that they think should be included in the guides. Swift City forwards suggestions to the person that reviews a particular city. The company is also on the lookout for talented people who wish to join their team of writers and reviewers.
