Opodo is a European Internet travel agency website. Owned by nine European airlines ( British Airways, Air France, Alitalia, Iberia, KLM, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus, Austrian Airlines and Finnair), Opodo's major shareholder is Amadeus GDS, a travel industry technology provider. Opodo specializes in flight reservations, package holidays, hotels, car rental, event tickets, ski holidays, cottages and cruises.

Opodo launched its first site (www.opodo.de) in Germany in November 2001. The UK site (www.opodo.co.uk) was launched in January 2002; the French, Italian, Spanish and Scandinavian websites were started over the next few years. Opodo is well-known for providing competitively priced online travel service for world travel. The database includes access to over 500 airlines, over 65,000 hotels, over 7,000 car hire locations. Users can search for destinations by the type of holiday that appeals to them, including skiing, beach, romance, or family vacations.

Opodo has partnered with leading travel guides to provide users with details on hundreds of worldwide destinations. In-depth travel information including destination guides and interactive travel maps are made available for travelers' convenience. In addition, Opodo provides travel insurance from the world's largest provider, AIG.
