Lastminute is well-known for its holiday packages and flights suited to traveler's needs and budgets. More recently, Lastminute has also diversified operations into car rentals, theatre tickets, restaurant bookings and lifestyle business. The website is primarily aimed towards users from the UK; however it does have international websites as well.

Lastminute.com has aimed to become a mega-brand with its recent acquisitions of smaller holiday website holdings such as www.medhotels.com, www.onlinetravel.com , holidayautos.com, travel4less.com, ferrybooker.com, ifyouski.com and deckchair.com. With these changes, Lastminute is no longer just a website which offers last-minute holiday packages. It is a complete multi-specialty brand which arranges everything from airline tickets to skydiving expeditions.

In July 2005, lastminute.com was acquired by Sabre Holdings, owner of Travelocity. As a result of this, lastminute.com is now the leading brand for Travelocity in Europe. Travelocity continues to support the brand by sharing its infrastructure and technology.
